VINTAGE GOTTA BE DONE: Queens (aka Lorikeets Are Quite Nice Birds Really)

One more week in the archives for Gotta Be Done, and just in time for Mother's Day, what better place to go than Queens?!

This recap was also baby Joe's first appearance on the pod - and now nearly a year on, that gorgeous bub has just turned one! 

Time and tide truly wait for no man/dog/queen, but at least in the intervening year we've finally found our answer: Chilli saying "gotta be done" was a shoutout to us! (Joe Brumm may have confirmed this under duress.)

Kate and Mary said they were taking a break, and it's absolutely gotta be done!

But the break coincides with the earliest episodes of Gotta Be Done disappearing from Apple Podcasts and Spotify, HOW RUDE. We're trying to get that fixed - but if you need a revisit in the meantime, we can oblige!

Mr Monkeyjocks (aka The Potential or Theoretical Benefits of a Salt Lamp)

We're knee-deep in toys, but who's really to blame for this outrageousness? As Mary and Kate ponder the usefulness of a salt lamp, coolness of a pair of Wayfarers, and treasureability of a baby gift, perhaps all-encompassing consumer culture is a little too close for comfort. 

Mr Monkeyjocks also has us wondering if overwhelm is to blame for the "I'm bored" kid chorus? And if a box of toys gets "lost" in Mary's house move, is it unethical to blame the removalists?

It's nearly two years since Gotta Be Done first caught up with Joe Brumm, the incredible creator of Bluey. 

Since then, the sheer perfection of Flat Pack and Sleepytime has happened. An Emmy happened (and a million more awards.) Bloody 2020 happened (and after this we'll never speak of it again.) Books and toys and Bluey's Big Play are still happening. And time and time again, Bluey has spoken to us/ saved us amidst it all.
